Nuba Lucern Coco Oil Chaff
Description:
Sample weight: 0.7–1 kg
Nuba Lucern Coco Oil Chaff is made from 100% pure alfalfa enriched with a touch of cold-pressed coconut oil. This premium blend provides horses with high-quality protein, digestible fiber, slow-release energy (calories), healthy fats, and calcium.
What makes our chaff special?
Our unique multi-stage preparation process results in three distinct and valuable components:
1. Chopped Alfalfa Stalks (Traditional Chaff):
These fibrous stems offer more digestible fiber than standard hay, delivering slow-release energy and promoting better gut health. Fiber supports the digestive system by fostering the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, which boosts digestion and strengthens immunity.
2. Alfalfa Pellets:
We collect and granulate the most nutrient-dense parts of the alfalfa—leaves, buds, and fine stem fragments—normally lost as dust in traditional hay. These fragile parts hold the majority of the plant’s nutritional value but often crumble or blow away. Granulating them reduces dust and minimizes respiratory irritation in horses while preserving their full benefit.
3. Coconut Oil Coating:
We gently coat the chaff in unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil, a rich source of medium-chain fatty acids. These fats are quickly absorbed, efficiently metabolized, and provide long-lasting energy without being easily stored as fat. Coconut oil contains no trans fats and is rich in lauric acid, known for its antiviral, antibacterial, and antiprotozoal properties.
